How to get to Tampere

Tampere can be accessed easily by airplane, train or bus. The nearest airport is Tampere-Pirkkala (TMP) about 15km from the event center. The second nearest airport is Helsinki-Vantaa (HEL), which is about 170km from Tampere. There are regular bus lines operating from Helsinki-Vantaa to center of Tampere. Tampere can also be accessed easily from Helsinki by train https://www.vr.fi/cs/vr/en/frontpage. Arrival with car and parking

For safety reasons, it is not allowed to park cars near the event center. The car parking locates at Teivo Racetrack, which address is Ravitie, Ylöjärvi (61º 31' 45" / 23º 37' 49"). The driving instructions to the parking area will be posted from Vaasantie, road number 65, on 19th of September at 07:00 a.m. The location of the parking area is shown on the maps below (Figure 1 and Figure 2).

There is a regular bus transportation from the car parking to the event center. The busstop is inside the parking area and its location is shown in Figure 2. The transportation time to the event center is approximately 7 minutes. Fee of 5€ must be paid in cash in the INFO of event center before returning to the parking area with the bus transportation. This fee covers both the return ticket and the parking ticket. Note that this fee is vehicle-specific, and the parking ticket is needed when leaving the car parking area with a vehicle.

The first bus leaves from the car parking to the event center at 07:30 a.m. The regular bus transportation from the event center to the parking area starts at 12:00 a.m.

Arrival to Event Centre

Driving instructions to the event centre will be posted from the Pispalan valtatie on 18th of September at 06:00 p.m. The arrival routes to event area are shown in Figure 3.

It is essential that driving instructions and routes set by the event organiser are obeyed when arriving and leaving the event center. These routes must be obeyed till the closing time of the finish of A-finals.

It is recommended that Tampere Public Transport will be used when approaching the event centre. The lines 8, 11, 13, 17, 29, 36, 70, 80 and 85 drive by the event center and the center of Tampere. When arriving the event center from the center of Tampere, the bus stop number 1518 is the closest to the event center. Close to the bus stop there is a signpost that guides to the event center. When leaving from the event center, the bus stop number 1519 is the closest one when heading towards the center of Tampere. The locations of these bus stops, signpost and the event center are shown in Figure 4. The event center locates at Kaarila school, which address is Vallerinkatu 11, Tampere.

For safety reasons, it is not allowed to park cars near the event center. The car parking is in the area of Teivo Racetrack shown in Figure 1 and Figure 2. However, it is possible to drive by the event center with car and leave competitors near the event center. In this case, the drop-off zone of competitors is by the Epilänkatu street, from which the distance to the event centre is about 400 meters. The map of drop-off zone is shown in Figure 3 and Figure 4. When leaving the competitors in the drop-off zone, the car must be stopped in such location that traffic is not blocked on Epilänkatu nor on Pislalan valtatie. After leaving the competitors in the drop-off zone, the car should be driven out from the event area along the Epilänkatu street. The exit route is iindicated in Figure 4 by the blue arrows.

The buses operating between the event center and Teivo car parking area stop at the bus stop that is next to the event center. The location of this bus stop is shown in Figure 4.

The event center can also be approached by bicycle based on the driving instructions.

Figure 3: The blue lines on the roads shows the arrival routes to the event area when arriving from direction of Ylöjärvi, Pori or center of Tampere. When arriving with car, it must be driven in the direction of the blue arrows. Note that there is no car parking near the event center. It is possible to leave competitors in the drop-off zone that is shown with pink color on the Epilänkatu street. When leaving the competitors in the drop-off zone, the car must be stopped in such location that traffic is not blocked on Epilänkatu nor on Pislalan valtatie. After leaving the competitors in the drop-off zone, the car should be driven out from the event area along the Epilänkatu street.
